Nikon N55 Problem

I have loaded about 4 rolls of film onto my brand new camera with no issue. I just finished one and tried to load the fifth, but when I turned the camera on to wind, it did basically nothing, but it did give me an error message "Err" and tell me that there was no film in it"E". Im concerned and I dont have the manual with me. Can anyone tell me whats up? Thanks

  Hi, Amanda...

I believe the Err message indicates that your lens is not set to the minimum aperture. That is, check the f-stop ring - it should be rotated all the way to f22 (or whatever the largest f-number is).

The "E" would imply that you did not seat the litle "tongue" of film properly in the take-up side, so the mechanism was not able to grab that end and start pulling the film out of the cannister. So, if you reset the f-stop and get rid of the Err, and the E is still there, then simply open the back of the camera again (you won't ruin any film because no film was moved yet) and see if you can reposition the end of the roll just a tad.

Hope that helps!

  Bob,
I dont know how to respond to you directly, but I'd like to thank you for your help. My brother helped me out with the film issue, but your advice helped me out! Thanks a lot!
