SAVING FILES TO DVD/CD

I am trying to save some of my pictures/files to a dvd/cd and I keep getting error messages.

The files are from a 20d canon, they are in my computer, not compact flash card. they are in jpeg form. It seems that they are protected in some way and I cannot burn them to a DVD/CD.

I am able to move them from folder to folder though.

I have tried burning using nero and also using the drag and drop to disc function, with no luck.

"Cyclic Redundancy check" is a data integrity check error. In another word, when writing to CD/DVD, the system validates the source data (on the hard disk) and the destination data (on the cd/dvd) to be identical. When this check fails, you will get the error. Data has been already written to the target disk. (...did you check and see your image files are on cd/dvd? They may be all there.)

As you said, the files on the hard disk are fine as you can copy files from one folder to another. It's just when writing to cd/dvd, the system could not validate the integrity of the data.

This may be just a circumstancial or a situational error if you have been able to burn CD/DVD previously. It just may be too much going to in the system when you get this error.
- If so, close other programs, and make sure the file transfer is the only thing that is active at the time.
- If you have never been able to burn CD/DVD, then the problem may have a few different causes. That is, hardware and/or software. (It's been said that this problem is more frequent with USB interfaced CD/DVD devices.)
- If there is a way to slow down the CD/DVD's write speed, you may try that.
