Photography Question

Dawn Evans

clothing in portraits

I am taking some color and b/w outdoor pictures of my children(10,9,3,18mths) and need some advice. The background will be that of green hedges with a few pink flowers with the children sitting on hay bales. Here are my questions... what colors should I have them wear that will not wash them out and accent their features ( I would love to do the white shirt thing and denim with bare feet), what is the best film to use with my 35mm, and does anyone have any suggestions on how I could pose them to show more of their character and personailty without bringing in props that will make the photo "cluttered"... Please help... thanks

Red, yellow, pink, orange without patterns. Fuji Superia color print film at iso 100. Fill flash set to 1/2 or even 2/3 of an f-stop less than your ambient light level.
