Photography Question

Compact Flash Card?

I am shopping for a Canon XT or 20D online. Some of the sites list compact flash card and reader. Is this something that would normally come with a camera or something extra? Anything else like that I need to make sure comes with the camera? I know about the US Warrenty, battery/charger and manual. What about lens cap and neck strap? Any thing else? I have read about the reputable companies that have been recomended.
