Photography Question

Best choice for a Minolta?

Hi folks...I'm looking for a camera to replace my wonderful Maxxum 7000. It's still a great camera, but I need something with a faster shutter speed. I would LOVE a Maxxum 9, but since I'm not married to Bill Gates, I can't exactly afford it. I actually prefer the less stream-lined, featherweight cameras...I like a little weight to them and I like my buttons and such to be easily accessible. Like I said, I love my 7000, but it's just not fast enough for the action shots that I want to capture.
I really prefer Minolta, but if anyone has another brand out there that they think is better, I'm open to ideas.
Thanks!
Halcyon

Since you already have Maxxum lens and are familiar with the Minolta system, check out new Maxxum 5, or the XTsi, or the Maxxum 7. The 5 and 7 have autofocus as fast or faster than like offerings from Canon or Nikon.

Otherwise I really like Canon Elan 7/7e or the Rebel 2000, though Nikon 80 and 65 are equally good.

Thanks Jon! I took the plunge and bought a Maxxum 7, on the reasoning that it was fast, and I already had the lenses to fit. I think I'll be a nervous wreck until it gets here! :-)
