Help on finding a digital camera I am looking for a digital camera around $300 that has a black and white effect aleast 4 optical zoom 5 MP and a docking station that charges batteries any help.

Kodak and Fuji both make cameras that have available or come with charging stands. Other brands I'm not sure of. You may want to check out dpreview.com and do a features search on what you're looking for.

Hi Richard. I have a suggestion for a nice camera that meets many of your criteria....except for the docking station. Panasonic FZ5. It has the black and white setting, 5MP, a FANTASTIC 12X optical zoom with a very effective image stabilization. It might be just a tad more than $300 nowadays....I paid $379 for mine several months ago and I know it has come down at certain places. It has a lens made by Leica, and if you shoot mainly with the lower ISO's the noise is not an issue. As I stated, it does not have a dock for the camera itself....but it does have a very compact charger with no cord. It just plugs into the wall and is very unobtrusive. The battery life is very good as well. I highly recommend it. I can send you images I've taken with it if you like. Mark
