Which lens shade?

I read in an answer to an earlier question on equipment for portrait photography that it is good to have a good lens shade for your lens. I just got a Hasselblad 500 C/M with an 80mm lens and will soon be getting a 150mm lens. What exactly is a lens shade for? What is a "good" lens shade, and are the ones for Hasselblad's designed to fit any Hasselblad lens? I've seen a black metal one and an accordian-type one on ebay and I am wondering which one would be best.

The "accordian" (bellows) type is probably the most versatile and effective. It generally has slots to hold gels and is adjustable to fit a variety of focal lengths. And it looks the coolest. ;-)))
