Photography Question

Just a curious question - very often on posts on this thread there are very lengthy and informative responses - but the persons name ONLY appears, with no link to a gallery! Now, I would like to check out what these people are shooting, the quality of their work, their styles - make an assessment on their ability to pass comment/judgement (not that I've had bad advice), its just strange that anyone would belong to a site like BP, be quite vocal, but not give the rest of us a chance to crit them!! Anyone else wonder about this?

  Yes Robyn,

I thought ### was the wizard here. His answers were almost too long though ,maybe cut and pasted? Then he finally gave up his link and when I looked at his pictures I couldn't believe it. And he was charging over $100 for so-so shots. Or, if they're pictures are to good, everyone might wonder what they are doing here and that they are just trying to gloat or be a superstar.

Well, I hope my responses weren't to informative. I'm afraid if I put up a gallery, I might look like a gloating superstar like Brenda mentioned.

Look photography shot in manual, tv or av is not that confusing. The answers should be short and to the point. If you spend to much time reading then you are not spending enough time taking pictures. If you could master it through reading there would be way more professionals. The best way is to shoot it and take notes, look at your info and compare and find what you like best. Practice alot

That was a joke Jerry, I forgot the LOL.

Hey I looked at your pictures and I think the your smallest package should be 5 G's. The people here in Cali have got some money, they can afford it. And I've found, in the short time that I've been here, that the cheapest packages I sell are the worst brides(very demanding). Of coarse, not the day of the wedding, but for albums, print credits and free DVD's afterwards. geeezzz

I agree with Jerry, that was really funny!

Robyn, not all of the people with out galleries/contact buttons/bio's are fakes. Bob, for example, has very long posts, and is for real.

Personally, I take information and advice with a grain of salt. I always look at someone else's work if they are giving me info, if I like what they are producing and it is quality work, then I know what they are talking about.

No way am I going to take advice from someone who tells me how to setup studio lighting this way or that way etc, go in look at their work and not be impressed at all. That is just asking for trouble.

Thanks All - but Craig, sometimes explanations are not that easy to make short - some people are better with showing you how to do it - vs writing a description (probably why they use a camera to tell a thousand words) - so it just depends on the medium of choice. I'm still confused though why people belong to BP and don't show their work? I mean, where is yours for example? Why can't I look at your gallery. Not trying to be funny or anything, genuinely confused?
