Canon 20d Flash I recently bought the Canon 20d. I noticed that the built in flash doesn't do much for the subject. Just about every picture that I take is extremely dark. I need to buy a stronger flash, can anyone recommend a good one for the 20d. I really want a flash that is brilliant. Thanks,

Hi! How far away are you from the subject when you are using the flash? Maybe you should get closer? Also, maybe you could have accidently turned the flash exposure compensation down or something like that? What setting are you on? Some settings only expose for the subject with the flash, leaving the rest of the iamge (background) dark.

Kassim, I also have the Canon 20D. The dealer told me there were 2 flashes he would recommend, but they only had one (580EX) in stock when I purchased the camera. He mentioned the 430EX speedlight and the 580EX Speedlight. He said the 580EX would reach farther than the 430EX. I checked prices at B&H Photo and there is a $135 difference. Check out the 550EX as well. Here is the site address. http://www.bhphotovideo.com I am very happy with the 580EX. Glad it was the only one there when I was shopping. Hope this helps. Deb

****HI Andrew and Debbie, thanks for responding to my question. ***Andrew, I don't have a problem with my close up shots too much, but when I shoot at a distance, mainly inside, I can't get the correct lighting. I am still learning the functions and settings of this camera. Otherwise, I love the 20d. I'm sure the camera will be even better when I learn more about it.
