How to create the perfect background


Hi everyone.
I would like to make photos like this one: http://www.bellydancematernity.com/files/images_full/4394s6_detail.jpg

with a perfect white background. Can anyone tell me how to do that ? or maybe what to buy.

My camera is canon powershot A510 3.2 megapixels. Is that powerful enough to make a picture like the one above.

1 bare bulb hot light and silver reflector for backdrop light, slave flash bounced into umbrella for main, dedicated flash ttl, +1 EV for fill.

White backdrop, lights to backdrop 2 stops hotter than main light. You will also hear that it can be done with a 1:1 ratio with a pure white backdrop. It's not the camera, it's the lighting. With the 2:1 ratio you should be able to acheive this with a grey seamless backdrop.
