rechargable batteries

I use a two speedlight system when indoors and am seeking the best rechargeable batteries available. Speedy recharge time is a must. Can anyone recommend a company? Thanks, Sam

Well I've never used the speedlites but here's something you could look into. Since you'll be indoors (i'm assuming your "studio") isn't there some DC/AC adapters you could use so that you have continuous AC power and probably the fastest recharge times with these. Unless you're trying to completely alliviate wires this might be your best bet.

Greetings Sam: I've never used the speedlights either. For portable strobes I use the Quantum T-2s with Quantum Turbo Batteries. They'll also work with the Vivitar 285 HVs (high voltage 285) using a different cord. The recharge time, working at full power is about a second, maybe 1.5 sec. and the batteries seem to go on forever with that same recyling speed. It's even faster working at reduced power, almost fast enough to keep up with a multi-frame per sec. motor drive.

And, they're actually lead-acid configuration so absolutely no memory problems (other than remembering to turn it off) . http://www.qtm.com/ is their website. Oh, the T-2 puts out 200 w.s. max, BUT the new T-4 is 400 w.s. (I want one of those).

And as Justin mentioned, you can always use these things off AC/DC recharge mode to shoot in a pinch while it's quick charging.

Quantum also makes mini-turbo batteries which I hear are also excellent. They're pricey but rugged and fast. Almost as though they were ... .ummmmm....turbo charged? LOL !!

B&H seems to have the best prices on these guys. The Turbo is about $400. http://www.bhphotovideo.com
Take it light Sam

Sorry Sam, I forgot to mention that as with all battery to strobes, check for compatibility of course. And if you can't find cords (sync and power) to work with a quantum pack and the Speedlights, Paramount Cords is the place to go. They're in Brooklyn, NY
