Best Lens for Flower Photography

I have a Nikon D-100 and love to take pictures of flowers. The problem I have with my current lens, a Nikon AF Nikkor 28 -105 mm, is that if I take a picture of a lily either the flower is blurry or the stamen is blurry. I want the complete flower to be sharp. What lens would work best in doing this?

It isn't possible in macro photography for the entire flower to be in focus with any lens.

It can be...but you have to use a very small aperature. I use f/25 quite a bit. The only down size is the long shutter speed or high ISO to compensate. I own a Canon and have a 100mm macro lens. I tried a 50mm macro, but couldn't get in close enough. Can't help with a Nikon, but hope this helps.

I've seen some macro photos with very deep depth of field that were created by digitally combining several images that were taken in quick succession, each with a different point of focus on the subject. See http://www.crystalcanyons.net/Pages/TechNotes/3DMicroMacro.shtm for an example. This link is dated 2002-2003, there may be more/improved software options now.
