the tree branch and leeves on the top left corner are too bright! there are too many distractions (what is the main subject in this photo?). the light in the bottom-left corner is distracting and looks like a part of the frame 9looks like it's been cut-off the pic.) that's all! am I right?

This is a little like critique. I am NOT good at recognizing stuff that should/shouldn't be in a pic with the exception sometimes of distracting elements.

I'm with Damian, this one looked ok until I read your suggestion that it doesn't have a defined subject. Now that you mention it IF it does have a subject it seems the steps are overshadowing the main subject which should be the building. I don't shoot buildings much due to the composition problems involved with that type of photography.

It looks a tad drab to me. I'd use some levels, curves or contrast on it to enhance the image some.

The perspective needs to be fixed a little in PS. That's an easy fix.

Also looks a bit flat to me - needs some hue/balance? - I'm off for the weekend guys, so will check again on Sun night/Mon - this looks like fun tho :)

Its to bright in the righthand bottom corner, distracts your eye. Not enough contrast, to flat, no subject matter.

yes? no? is this what you wanted?

Girish, the white steps, etc. on the right side of the picture do nothing for it, and since the eye goes to the brightest part of an image, you need to do some serious cropping unless your subject is Ugly Stairs On the Right.

Serious all around cropping might also give you a subject, Brownstone Greenery.

All I notice is that the person that lives on the left has air conditioning and is too lazy to water the window planters.......

  1) Too busy... lets your eye wander. Actualy my eye keeps going to the top left corner of over exposed leaves.
2) Bad lighting - no shadows, contrast non existant.
3) Color is "flat"
4) Subject? None.
5) Overall its a "snap shot", not intersting, dull etc.
Cheers, Glenn

Id say the worst part is the bottoms of both staircases are cut off. Amongst "Other" things.
