Upgrading camera and lens

Currently using a Canon 300d with the basic zoom lenses (f4/5.6). Our Little League Organization has asked us to take pictures of the 9-10 year old State Baseball Tournament we are hosting in August. Two games per day starting in daylight finishing under lights. Right now probably going to upgrade to the 20D body. The lens choice is difficult looking at the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 based on reviews and it's about 2/3 the price of a similar Canon lens. I would rent the Canon lens for a month if anyone rent in NW. PA. Any help will make the purchase decision easier

  Hi!
That lens should probably work pretty good with a digital camera with the 1.6x crop. I have a 200mm canon prime telephoto lens and it's great, though I wish the 70-200 wasn't so much more. The aperture should work pretty good, and I would suggest a monopod perhaps or a tripod with only one leg down so you can move faster if you need to. If you get a monopod, try to see if you can get a tripod/monopod collar for whichever 70-200 2.8 zoom lens you get.

Hope this helps!
