Photography Question

Portrait Commentators out there?

Are there any professional or serious amateurists out there who could look at my recent portraits and give me some candid comments? I've shot in colour, converted to BW/Sepia etc., used different effects/filters. I'd really like to start charging and moving into photography professionally, but need someone, other than friends, to comment on my work. Much as I love their praise, they're really biased! I think I'm finding my niche doing personal/candids/kids/ non-studio stuff. Even if I did get a studio/lights etc one day, I don't think I would be a 'formal' photographer. Thanks in advance.

You are welcome. I put a few comments directly to the photos that I liked the best. You have some wonderful images. You did a great job capturing expressions and showing relationships between people. I like the photos that you had with the little girl in the water, both color and bw. There was a similar one of a lady. To me, her chin looked too close to the water and the effect on the water was distracting. The other one that I would fool with a little more - the child on mom's back. Could you darken the bright sky in the upper left? Other than that, everything looks really great!

Hi Robyn I am not a pro or am I serious.
Clowns don't do that. But I will tell you what I think with out suger coating it. I am not a big fan of B&W because I think it is a colorful world out there. Which is funny because I love selective coloring. I love your photos Rhona & Bradon 2 & 3, Rona & Jordon 2. The effects are wonderful.

I also think in portraits heads should not be cut off. But I guess that is a big thing now.

I believe you have what it takes.

Also thank you for your tweaking of my photo. I like what you did with them.

Charge, but don't forget to have fun.
Doc
Oh yes my comments will cost you 10 smiles.
