getting rid of red-eye in light eyes/adding BG
I like the image except the demon-eyes. the hazel almost always shows a full red circle in the middle of the eye rather than just the pupil. also, I was wondering since the scalp and wall have very similar tones, if it might look better if I were to make the background black. if so, how would I go about doing that? or does it only work if the black background is set up as a part of the original picture? thanks.

Here's an example shehnshah. Basically I just used the slection tool to trace around the image, then filled this selection with black. Then used the smudge tool to soften the merging between the new black and the selected headshot. The eyes I used the paint brush to change color from red and add highlight. Then unsharp masked. Added lighting effect. All done with-in PhotoImpact7. Another way would be to just paint in the background using black, but when adjusting for lighting, often this will show any variances in densities of a painted background, messing up what you are trying to accomplish.
