photo size How large can an image be before it is downsized on BP? Or does down sizing take place?

Hello Kerby; I had the same question a month ago, so I emailed the BP staff. The reply I received said it IS downsized to 500 pixels in the horizontal aspect. So it would seem, no mater what size you upload, it will be downsized. I don't mind the smaller dimensions on the "free" galleries, but the lack of resolution is disappointing. All the Best, Pete

Not sure what the exact numbers are, but I've heard from a few BP members that 480 pixels in the largest dimension is a popular choice. I also had quite a few sharpness/clarity issues a while back. After re-sizing to 480 @ 72ppi, I believe my images look better. Sorry I don't have any concrete evidence to support this theory though. Well I hope that it helps anyway :)

I was wondering how many MBS or KBS the size is before downsizing takes place. The one I put into day of my little model for ROger B's birthday was not even a whole MB it was like 900 KBS. Would that be downsized? ON different photo's I have place in largers MBS one? LIke three or four MBS. I sure those have been resized. What is the largest MB or KB you can put in? Kerby

I also have a problem with the sharpness, no matter how big or small the image is, the upload is never as sharp, so I normally oversharpen in photoshop just to get it to upload like the original. Also, does anyone else have a problem with the annoying small squares that appear down the right hand side of the photo after its uploaded?
