Photography Question

David Earls

Did it exist (followup on Robert Bridges' thread)

Actor Mark Rufalo has been accused of stealing the memory card from the camera of a photographer who was trespassing to take pictures at the funeral of actor Chris Penn.

So, if the memory card has been removed and destroyed, do the pictures exist?

The whole knowledge thing is just so chock full of these conundrums...

Depends on "how destroyed" is the memory card. Flash memory is pretty persistent and data can be recovered from cards that look wrecked and are inoperable. Only if the card were comletely reformatted and written over would the image files cease to exist.
