compact camera

What small compact digital camera is worth carring around when I don't want to lug my Nikon D70 around? How does anyone feel about the Nikon S1? I looking for camera that has some controls over Aperture, shutter speed but maybe I asking to much for a compact point and shoot.

In Nikon digital the small Coolpix series are quite compact and offer 4 megapixels. I suggest you try Olympus Camedia compact digital cameras w/ 4 megapixels and up. ( EBAY has plenty of these samples---surf it soon and find great compact digitals!)

  Joe,
You might want to also look at what type of memory card the compact digital uses, and decide if you want one that uses the same type of card as your D70.

My Canon Digital Rebel uses Compact Flash cards, but the Canon S2IS that I bought for my wife uses Secure Digital cards. So now I have to keep two types of cards.

Just something to consider.

Chris

Thanks for your input. Having cameras with the same memory style of cards is a very good idea and will Probably be the deciding factor in buying a point and shoot.
Thanks
