Sigma 120-300mm Lens I am thinking again about what to do to get in closer to my wildlife subjects. Since I already have the Sigma 2x Teleconverter I went to their webpage to see if they had a nice zoom that would continue to operate w/AF function and have a larger aperture. I'm also not ready to make a huge investment in a $4, $5 or $6000 dollar lens. This one comes in at $2199 excluding that (un)necessary filter. I think I found a good lens and would like your opinion. Thanking you now for your time & efforts on my behalf. **************************** The Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 EX APO DG IF HSM telephoto zoom lens provides a large constant f/2.8 maximum aperture at all focal lengths. In essence, it transforms a large-aperture 300mm f/2.8 lens into a zoom lens that allows to determine the picture composition without having to change the vantage point.
Note: HSM lenses, while able to manually focus with all Nikon F-mount cameras, will autofocus ONLY with the following cameras- F6, F5, F4s, F100, N90s, N90, N80, N75, N70, N65, D1 & D2-series, D50, D70, D100, D200, Pronea 6i, and Pronea S (or newer camera models). With other models, HSM or AF-S lenses must be focused manually. This is the same limitation as Nikon's own AF-S lenses.
• DG Lens Design • SLD Glass and Aspherical Lenses • Internal Focusing and Internal Zooming • Dedicated APO Tele Converters (optional) • Tripod Mount ******************* The other question is whether I should keep the other Sigma 50-500mm lens or sell it. Mom says keep it.
