Italian Lakes I am visting Lake Garda Italy in June, I have a Canon T70, what lenses and colour film would you recommend that I should take as a minimum?

hello terry, with the equiptment i'd take my 28-200 for all around shooting,my 28mm prime for landscapes, and my 50mm 1.7 for low light situations and shooting inside.you didn't ask but I would also take my 1.4x convertor just in case. definately a circular polarizer for daytime shooting.extra batteries. i also like the results I get from kodak professionl 400uc,downside,only comes in 36 exposure rolls.a tripod and remote release.cleaning kit.more film than you think you'll need.lens hoods. hope I didn't leave anything out,sam

As a lifelong Canon FD user, and a traveller, I can use the FD 35mm f2 or f2.8 for nearly everything I do. I also bring an 85 f1.8 or 100 for close-ups, flowers, portraits, or selecting part of a landscape. If you prefer wider, look for a 28 f2.8 SC. Mine was $25. Instead of an 85 or 100, consider a Vivitar 2x macro-focusing extender for your 50mm. This inexpensive ($50 max) extender will let you use the 50 as a 100 and/or as a 100mm macro, for flowers and extreme close-ups. If you're into macro, you'll really need the tripod and cable release. If you don't want to lug a tripod the whole trip, take advantage of trees, lamposts, walls, whatever will help you hold the camera steady at speeds below about 1/60 sec. Sam recommends a good film. I like 400UC, too.
