Feedback

I was wondering if I could get some feedback from some of you guys out there. I am trying to get out there in the photography world and let my work be seen, but I'm not sure how other people view it. If anyone has some idea's, pointers, or comments please do so. I am always looking for a fresh prospective. thanks a million

Okay, for the most part people want honest feedback and I'm willing to give it to you.

I love the idea of your photo "Thinking Cowboy" but you HAVE to use a Tripod! The cowboy is blurry which is very distracting, also the ground blends in with the tree, you need some details in the darks unless it's a silhouette(sp?) and there is no Sunset for a silhouette.

German Nights looks good but it's slightly tilted to the right, if you crop it and re-tilt it in Photoshop, that can be an Amazing Photo!

For Judgement, I love the fact that the two faces don't touch, it adds tension to the image, just be careful not to lose the detail in the dark areas (left man's eyes)

The Last Supper, the man all the way to the right really bothers me, most of his body is out of focus (which is fine) but his arm is in focus and it's unnatural looking, to be half in focus and half not.

The next image of the "god" with blue background is an amazing image! Could be a winner, I would darken up his beard just a little to bring out any little details, and lighten up his one eye.

Say a little prayer, is WAY out of focus. If it was in focus, it would be a much stronger image.

Early Spring, has some of the most beautiful lighting I have ever seen for flowers.

Sweet Dreams Flower has a few things I would change, The background needs to be more out of focus, so shorten the depth of field more, then there are 2 "tips of the flowers" one coming up from the bottom of the image, and one to the right of the butterfly, that are very distracting. I would also increase the saturation of this image to make the colors "Pop"

Beautiful Flower images, just becareful about shooting in harsh sunlight, otherwise the flowers get blown out.
One thing to remember, use a tripod and never handhold any image under 1/60th of a second otherwise your image won't be sharp. Good luck! Hope This helps!

One thing I must ask is if these images are sharp On your copies? I loaded omst of the frames in my gallery, and they came out fuzzy. I'm not going to reload them, but just thought I'd mention it. I must say that you have a very good eye.

  welcome lisa,
only use your close-up filters on small objects like flowers and bugs, they weren't intended for larger objects.

My first question: Are you thinking of trying to sell some of your work through this gallery? If so, the following applies:

Why would I buy a photograph of another piece of art work?

Why would I buy a photograph in which the photographer was careless about the horizon?

Why, because "the light was just right" would I buy a photograph that really doesn't tell a story or excite me?

Why would I buy the work from an incomplete gallery? [About half the images noted didn't come up.

yeah...ow, but it's the truth. I would honestly want someone to tell me how my images are like that. I wouldn't like what they had to say, but it would help me out to become a better photographer.
