  Rachel,

I usually try to find a couple of good and a couple of critical things to say when I look at photos. I am not a portrait person, as edvident from my gallery. I like your photos very much. I think the composition is nice and they seem very technically sound. I wish the top picture popped a bit more, but I am really reaching to find something to say about it. Keep up the good work.

Stuart

I would have shot At the Gate a little differently. I think I would have backed off a bit so at least her hat was completely showing. It kinda goes along with cutting a person off at the ankles. If your subject had not have been wearing the hat, this would have been a great shot. I found the rest to be very well framed. I really enjoyed them.

Thank you all for your responses, Denyse I wasn't kidding but I really appreciate the praise, I am just starting my own photography business and I like to have my work critiqued by other photographers because there is always room for improvement. Thank you all I really appreciate it.
Rachel

Hi Rachel I have to agree all the hat need to be in the photo. Other wise every thing was wonderful. Love your portrait of the young man and the young lady. Keep up the good work. :o)

Me again Wedding Day does not work for me. The soft circle around the bride is the wrong color for this, the dress blends in with it. Plus if your going to use this effect it should go all the way around.

Rachel, I'm throwing my 2 cents in. I like your placement of your subjects in your photos. I really like the one w/ the child, and the last one. Your depth of field is good. I have one suggestion: Watch your backgrounds.
What I mean is, for "at the gate", I love the framing, love the expression, but for me, the white and dark background took away from the subject. If the background was all one color - all dark or all light - the focus would be more on your subject. Same with the flower picture. your framing was good, so was the DOF and the out of focus flower behind it to the right, I just wish the one on the left corner were out of focus or not in the picture. Hope I helped. I too appreciate constructive critiques.

I enjoyed looking at your photos I agree about the top photo maybe it could have the subject to the front left side and have a bit of scenery slightly blurred.

I am not a professional either but I really liked all of the others I think you have a good eye for it.

By the way what type of Canon Camera is it.

Elizabeth
