Use the easy set-up instructions [lots of pictures] rather than the Users Guide.

Open box, take out printer. Do not turn on printer. Connect power cord to electrical receptacle and USB cord to upper port [if USB 2.0] or lower port [if USB 1.0 or 1.1.]

Open front panel panel. Insert print head [it lays in against the contact pad.] Open ink cartridges and insert in nozzle cartridge according to picture shown in easy Set-up Sheet. The print head is color coded so you can't make a mistake.

I set two i9900's up in less than 20 minutes. Much more to upload the drivers from the CD.

To do this, turn on computer. Put CD in CD-ROM. Turn on printer. Follow instructions of Installation Wizard.

John's set up instructions are great. I have gotten the best printing results doing the following (I use Photoshop):

In Photoshop set it up to let the printer manage the color.

In the photo properties select your paper type

Change color management to manual and pick the set button.

Put a check in the box that says enable icm.

I have tried 3 or 4 variations including letting Photoshop do the color management and I always get results that are almost exactly what I see on my monitor.

When you insert the ink cartridges just remember that the hold that ink flows out of should be on the bottom and to the rear.
