Let's hope the Adobe Police Force doesn't read bp.com!

You do realize that each CD has the code number which is compared to the number you enter. if they don't match, you probably won't be allowed to procedd with the installation.

But maybe I'm wrong.

John, I think that's only for the most expensive software, for example, Window XP. I've got software that I don't even have to type anything in and it works just fine. Or it might just be with newer software.

PS. The Adobe Police Force, good one!

  Brendan,

When you run the Install Program for Photoshop Elements [Version 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0] you're asked to enter the serial number. The Install Program checks the number against the installation wizard.

Ok, maybe it does, I just know that a lot of older programs don't.

Makes no difference which CD you use with a genuine valid serial number -- the serial code isn't matched to a specific disc -- far too many discs manufactured to do that, it would mean having to have millions of different serials for one program - one for each CD!. Even a Windows XP serial code will work with any Windows XP CD as long as it's the right version for the code your using (ie XP Home serial is different to the XP Pro serial). Anyway, enough. Sorry to rabbit on. I forgot, this is not a computer forum!
