Photography Question

Do photograph titles make a difference?

Does a photo title and description make a difference to whether or not it is more likely to be sold?
I have been asked by a gallery for some of my photos to be sold on order from a data base. They will enter key words etc but I need to give them a title and 1/2 sentence description of each photo. As you can tell I'm new at this so would appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks

You might take a look at this site - according to this guy, the more info the potential buyer has, the more likely a buy will happen. If they have a choice between something they like with a title and something they like without a title, they will tend to buy the one with the title, etc. I found it interesting and it does make sense to me. Same with signed vs. unsigned, etc.

I think a Title may help in competition but, frankly, I don't think it will help a sale.

A photograph is like everything else - one likes it or s/he doesn't. A Title isn't going to stir the emotions but, when one is seeking out every plus [in a competition,] the Title can help explain the picture to the qualified person judging technical, as well as artistic merits of the image.
