Supplies for presentation of purchases to clients

I am looking for a way to present finished prints to clients that looks professional and appealing. A few years ago I had my children's photos taken at a well-known photographer in my area, and when I went to pick up the prints, they were in a large, cardboard-type folder that totally enclosed the prints and tied closed. It was very elegant. I looked all over the web for something similar, but to no avail. Any suggestions? I obviously don't want to spend a great deal, but want to promote a professional image in every detail possible. Thank you!

First you have to decide what you want to do. Do you want functionality or do you want fluff? This is very important because they are totally different animals. Upon delivering prints, I decided upon functionality. The reason is that, FOR ME, it is faster, more efficient, the client gets their prints super-fast, and everyone is happy. So, my lab drop ships for me. I upload the print to the lab, and they drop ship driectly to the client. It's not pretty, but the prints are shipped correctly and are safe.

Some people I know are extremely extravagant...waste of money, in my mind, but that's what they do.

Be creative and think of your own solution. You can use something as simple as cardboard tied together with twine with you logo stamped on the outside with a big rubber stamp. Don't laugh, someone does this with great success, he sells it as more environmentally friendly than wasting resources on finished paper and all that. It goes over well, and he is one of the top photogphers in the US.

Again, think about what kind of image you want to portray, who you are, and how you want that message to project. Once you do that, how to package it is pretty easy.

  Heidi-
Check out Mpix and their proof portfolio. I use them for my sessions and have the photos bound in a spiral bound 8x10 presentation for $1.60 per page or a 10x13 for $2.50 per page. You have the choice of number of photos per page (4-12 photos on each) and a printed cover option. So far my clients love them and I offer it to them at my cost with a certain size order or a double my cost if they don't hit that mark. If they choose not to buy, I have samples of different sittings and locations for display. So far about half of my clients buy the book, so I 'm not out any money, in fact, making a little extra!
