Bird Photography > DOF & Focus > How to ?
Hello guys,Some more doubts in Bird photography. I have been facing lot of problems in focussing birds when they are together. I just get confuse on where to focus so that all or 90% of the birds around the focus point will be clear. for example: lets discuss this one: http://www.betterphoto.com/gallery/dynoGallDetail.php?photoID=815587&catID=458&style=&contestCatID=&rowNumber=96&camID= I reckon the focus is in the middle, but what should have been done to get almost all the birds to be sharp enough. Where to focus ? Center birds head ? What aperture would be suitable for this? How to get more sharpness ? I hope I made my doubts clear enough. Lets discuss on this guys. regards.

Kannan, the very slim DOF you experienced is due to the extension tube - this is common with any lens put on a tube. You don't mention what your f-stop setting was, and of course a smaller aperture would make for more DOF, but again, with the tube, even that is limited.
