Confused Hi, I was just wondering if anyone else has seen the Winners for November. It is listed on the home page but when I go in there I think these are winners that was in another month. Maybe I'm just losing my mind but yall check for me and tell me if I need to check into a mental hospital. Thanks, Donna Taff.

Oh...I'm so glad that I decided to check here! I too thought I was going MAD?? LOL...I kept checking and then rechecking and thought Boy, I'm must be REALLY tired cause something sure don't seem right here! Thanks!

Question: They've announced the 561 Finalists for Nov. Do the upcoming "winners" (Grand, First, Second place) come only from that pool, or, can the judges also pick from additional Nov photos, which may then make the cut as 1st or 2nd place?

Hi all, I understand the glitch in the "winners" announcemnt, which is being straightened out. My question deals with the finalist listing. I haven't had time to view all of them, but I notice on the last couple of pages anyway, that several seem to have comment threads from previous months - prior to November. Perhaps these are resubmitted, but none of these seem to have any comments from the month of November. For example, there is a wonderful image of a tiger on page 14 entitled "Daydreamer", which has an October comment, and then three "congratulatory" comments in November as a finalist. Now its a December finalist?? (Hope I'm being clear here...) This is not a complaint, just a point of confusion. Can anyone set me straight??

It's not a December finalist...it's a November finalist. December's finalists won't come out until around the 20th-ish of January.

Oops,I typed my question too fast. I should have said, the photo has congratulations posted IN NOVEMBER,(11/23 & 11/24) as an OCTOBER finalist, and now its showing as a NOVEMBER finalist. So my question still stands...Corinne, sorry my haste has added to the confusion...

Okay...I found the picture. It was a Finalist in the month for October.The Finalists were announced probably around Nov.20th...therefore, the Congrats comments in November.

Corinne, and anyone...maybe I'm just dense here, so someone hit me over the head with a medallion!!! I think we agree that the photo example I'm talking about was an October finalist. ... So how is it now listed as one of the newly posted November finalists?? This is the crux of my question and so sorry if I'm missing something here! Thanks Corinne for trying to set me straight...

Okay....well as a "newbie" maybe I should not have tried to answer this question...was just trying to help. From what I can figure, it was probably resubmitted as you said previosly: "Perhaps these are resubmitted," therefore I didn't reiterate that fact. But I think maybe you should just contact Heather...she can explain it I'm sure. :)

Thanks again, Corinne. I've only been a member for about 7 months, and I just find this one puzzling. It would be unusual for someone to resubmit a finalist again the very next month, (and you would expect to see additional comments in that next month) but that's all I can figure too. Brian, not sure what to think; I don't think you're being dense. That Daydreamer shot of the tiger is puzzling, based on the thread. It has a 10/19 upload date and one 10/19 comment...which is normal in itself, but then yes, the next comments are Nov. 23, congratulating on the October Finalist choice. And in fact, skimming just the *October* finalists page (ie, the 733 finalists that month), it definitely appears there; on Page 7. It would seem unsusual (to you and me!) to immediately resubmit a Finalist into the very next month's contest (hoping for a 1st or 2nd?) Dunno! Guess we'll have to ask Ashleigh or Heather...!

Hi Brian!The Way I Read It It Was Originally Submitted In The Oct Contest,It Didnt Win Anything That Month,It Was Resubmitted In Nov And Has Just Won A Finalist And Is In The Current Pool For The Winners Picks:-) Lots Of Photographers Resubmit Finalist Images, I Agree The Following Month Is A Bit To Soon But That Is The Photographers Choice.. As Far As The Amount Of Comments,She Is New At BP And A New Student,Thus The Lack Of Comments For Oct,More For Nov Because It Was A Finalist..

Thanks Christopher and Terry for jumping in here! Hope you see why I thought this unusual...I guess what caught my attention was that there are a number of finalists that I found on the last few pages (I started my viewing from the last page backwards) that are evidently resubmissions and many of these haven't a single November comment or discussion - only comments from a previous month. This just seemed unusual and hence my question. I'm sure there's no problem, but I was curious enough to post on this link. Thanks again for the the imput(s). Ashleigh, good luck in the finals with you great capture!
