Rebel XT Does anyone know if the Digital Rebel XT does multiple exposures. I know it has mirror lock up capabilities but I can't find anywhere that specifically states it will do multiple exposures.

Generally, digital cameras are not enabled to do double exposures in the camera (there may be a model or two that do). This is something that is done far more effectively (better control of exposure, subject placement, etc.) by combining 2 or more images when editing on the computer.

I know that PS has the capability. I have Photoshop CS but have not really gotten into editing my photos that way yet (other than the basics). I am thinking of upgrading from the Digital Rebel to the Rebel XT and wondered about the Mulitple Exposure capability. I also wondered if the batteries are the same for the Digital Rebel and the Rebel XT.

The Digital Rebel shares the BP-511 or BP-512 battery used in the D30/D60/10D/20D. The battery for the Digital Rebel XT is a new design model NB-2LH that is smaller and lighter. The BP-511/512 cannot be used in the XT.

No The Rebel XT Doesnt Do Multiple Exposure's In Fact Glancing At Canon's Website I Don't Think Any Of Their DSLR"s Have That Capability. The Only One I Know Of That Does This Is The D2X Nikon,Their Could Be Another Brand Though That Would Do This Im Not Aware Of. The Batteries Are A Different # To, The XT Uses This One, (Battery Pack NB-2LH) The Rebel Uses A Different One:-)

Tammy: As far as I know, the only digital SLR with multiple exposure capability is the Nikon D2x. There's some technical problem in trying to include this feature in a digital camera, and so far, only Nikon has solved it. But the D2x is a VERY expensive camera. Regards, Peter Burian, Instructor,

With all due respect I don't see the point of it. There's a 99.23% (my own guess) chance that you're going to run it through post-editing anyways so why not just slap two layers together and adjust opacity accordingly? Just a thought.

LOL! I know - but I am better with in-camera effects than with Photoshop - the Adobe CS is very intimidating to me. :) The multiple exposures that I like doing for example - one of flowers when there is a gentle breeze blowin.

LOL! I know I shouldn't - I think maybe I just need to find time to sit down and actually play around more with it.
