How do I shoot in RAW I have a Canon digital rebel, Next year I plan on purchasing a Canon 20D. I now shoot JPEG, upload to Picasa2, enhance my photo, then upload to Mpix for cropping and printing. How difficult is it to shoot in RAW? What do I do? can I still upload to Picasa and on to MPix? Is there a simple on line tutorial to help the through this?

Every time you press the shutter, you shoot in RAW. When you select JPEG as your output format, you're just having your camera process the RAW data prior to download. You need a software package to read and edit RAW images. Canon provides one with their cameras (Digital Photograph Professional, or DPP - which I've never used), and Photoshop has a very powerful RAW plug-in for PS 7, CS, and CS+. There are some huge advantages to RAW, but don't forget that it adds steps to your workflow.

You want to be careful with RAW shooting. You want to do it when there isn't anyone around, or you will probably be arrested. Also, if it is cold, it can be dangerous! ;-)
