Photography Question

Barbara Helgason

Deciphering lab codes?

I do plan on asking this question next time I go to my lab (not till after Christmas) but I was wondering what all the numbers printed on the back of a picture mean. For example, N+2-2,
AS+03 SA110 JN1 ???? Do they have any special meanings, I know the lab will color correct if they feel it's necessary and I imagine these numbers somehow represent these corrections.

Density, color correction, order number, print number, printer channel. Sure there are other things as well.
You can print normal or add density to print lighter or darker. Machines read and auto print, but sometimes you have to add or subtract. Like a really over photo cause somebody got too close to a baby. Or a scene with lots of pine trees.
Machines can have different channels for film brands.
