what schooling do you need to... I am desperate to find information on what type of education one needs to get into the following photography fields? Crime scene, forensic and medical photography. I am currently a student at a photo school and need to figure out if I need a degree other then photography. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Greetings Lindsay: Aside from having a bachelors degree in either arts and science or science, with some courses in business and accounting. If your present school doesn't offer courses in those areas you were asking about and you can't find courses for them on the net, then you could probably get some help by contacting photographers at the local police or sheriffs departments including the coroners office. You could also contact the employment office at the Department of Justice in Washington D.C. and ask them what, if any, courses they prefer candidates for those positions have within their agencies. Last, while you may not find formal college level courses in those fields, or may find them at junior colleges rather than 4-year universities, you'll likely find a fair number of seminars offered for 1-7 day workshops in those areas of specialty.

You're welcome Lindsay. I doubt if Brooks has such courses though maybe they do. Meanwhile, I'd contact the Santa Barbara County Coroner's office and even the medical photography department at County U.S.C. Medical Center in L.A. I'll bet someone there could steer you in the right direction. Mark
