my canon eos 750

hi there. I have a canon eos 750 with a sigma 35-80mm lens and sometimes when I get photos back they have a thick black line covering most of the top half of the photo. could you tell me why this is please?

My guess is a light leak, probably from the lower edge of the film loading compartment.

light leaks don't make black lines on the photo. A wrong sync speed on some or a sticking shutter blade.

having had a look inside I found tha the shutter had a blade that was slightly bent and therefor wasn't opening all the way and it was sticky. have cleaned and straightened it and runs ok now. just got to wait for some more film back.

That sticky stuff is probably going to come back. There's a rubber shock absorber that starts to break down when it gets old that's going to need to be replaced. That's also what probably bent your shutter blade. Stuck together and bent when it tried to open. Otherwise, keep cleaning it.
It didn't cost a lot to get fixed when I did my camera.
