Removing glare from eyeglasses

Anyone have any good tricks for removing glare from eyeglasses? I know lots of remedys for PREVENTING it in the first place, but I did not take the photo, and have been asked to try to get the glare out. I am reasonably proficient with PS CS. All I know to do is lots of tedious work with the clone stamp, healing brush, and selecting and flipping one "good eye" in place of the "lost" eye covered with reflection. Just wondering if anyone has any other methods that address this problem. Thanks

Still tedious, but if you choose "darken" when you clone an area, it will just give it a bit more shadow.
