Quick Question about Light hitting film. Ok if Over exposing means TOO MUCH light is hitting the film making it TOO BRIGHT, doesn't light burn into the film, so TOO MUCH would make it TOO DARK? i mean I know over exposing makes it brighter. but how does that work? basicly what i'm asking is if you're burning something into something usually the longer the time it's exposed the darker.

i'm talking about slide, color positive film, by the way. so would it still be reversed?

once again slides start off with density and you burn away the details so too much light would burn it all away leaving you a clear slide, and when you project white light through it....drum roll. you get white light! Justin

Not the dictionary defintion of burn. Better yet, just drop the burn idea. You ever hear somebody say turn down the lights, the dimmer they get the darker it gets. Fade to black if you go all the way. Slide film records like your eyes do, color comes out as color is, dark comes out as dark is. Put way too much light than's needed, you get brighter and brighter. Till you wash out everything if you wanted. If you have a camera go shoot a roll, or a few digital frames if you have to.
