Lensbaby...It is a great day or what? I am sooo happy that BetterPhoto has decided to add LensBaby to their sponsers!!! I love using the Baby and think it really adds another dimension to photography. But, I have noticed that the contest doesn't seem to take notice of photos done with the Lensbaby even though I see some lovely photos ignored by the judges. I don't blame the judges, I understand the thought process but it's time to start looking at things that require a little extra budge on the step up. After all, if we all just tried to compete on the same level, every one's images would the same.

I truly think it's a great idea to vary the prize options - especially good for anyone who has won more than one camera bag... Only problem is I don't have an SLR so I can't use a lensbaby :-( I really think a 50% discount on a book or course would be a great alternate prize too that everyone could use no matter what camera they have!!

But if they get cash, it seems more like a business transaction instead of a gift and praise for an excellent job. I get paid everyday for my portraits but winning even just an honorable mention makes me feel better than all the cash prizes....but that's just my opinion.
