What lighting do I need?
I am going to be shooting a cheerleading squad (30 girls) inside. I have 2 large softbox 1000watt each. What other light should I use ? And how should I position them? I have never used these lights before so i'm very scared I'll mess up. I'll be shooting with a Nikon D70 or D50 I have both. Thank You for all your help.

You will be having time to practice with these lights, right? Please do...many weird things can happen when you don't practice. As far as posing..I would pose them for height. I would have them do a few "cheerleading-in-action" poses. I would also try to get them to pose on their school "rock" if they have one. Another idea for a more traditional pose, three rows of girls... 10 girls standing in the back with hands on hips, pom-poms to side. 9 girls in middle with one knee down, hands at hips, pom-poms on floor in front of the front girls. Girls on the end of the lines with outside hands up. 9 girls in front on knees pom-poms to side, hands at side. 2 girls in profile of side splits with middle row's pom=poms in front. Let me try a diagram... /////////// - Standing (poms at hips) \[[[[[[[[[/ - Kneeling (poms at * except for girls on end.) - (poms at hips ___ ____ - profile of side splits *********** - Poms in front Make sense?
