Family & Portrait photography prices I hope all you pros out there can help me. I'm taking a photo class, and I need to compare a few other photographers' prices on family photo shoots. Many photographers out here want to meet with you, or don't want to help if you tell them you're a student. I know we're all family here, so I hope you can help. If you choose to accept this mission, please list what your sitting fee is, the duration of the sitting, studio or on location, whether you shoot film or digital, your reprint prices/sizes, and whether you offer any additional services (like touch ups, collages, etc) and their prices. I appreciate your help so much, and I'm sure it will help others!

These prices vary greatly. What is the photographers experience, using pro gear? Geographical location, ie: rural or city? too many variables for any one definitive answer. I'd like to help, but the numbers are just so very drastically different!

My assigment was simply to ask what other people's prices are. Then I am to analyze why one would be more or less than the other. As per your example Joanna regarding rural or city, experience, equipment, etc. Those are good questions to ask when looking for a professional! I Live in Virginia. sitting fee is $125.00 per session and $225.00 for on location photography 4x5 or 4x6 is $15.00 11x14 is $289.00 and comes mounted on canvas 16x20 is $489.00 and comes mounte on canvas etc etc etc. Hope I helped.

Michelle- You can view my prices at www.throughtheseeyesphotography.com- I use the Digital Rebel. No lighting to speak of. Just natural light. Also, if you go to www.isabellchase.com you will find a list of participating photographers. Click on it and you'll have access to over 100 portrait photographer sites. And they are all over the country. So you can get an idea of regional structure. Hope this helps!
