It looks like lomography is just taking your camera EVERY single place you go, including bed and things. Doesn't seem like a "style" of photos but a "way of life" is what it's saying. Sounds weird to me, I'm not into the whole cult scene and when I glanced at the site I got a weird vibe BUT THAT'S JUST ME so take it for yourself.

Justin, if you explore a little more on that site, you'll see there's more to it - or actually LESS to it - than that.

A common mantra seems to be "Don't think, just shoot."

Taking random snapshots with dinky cameras.

What a revolutionary concept. <=== TYPED WITH MUCH SARCASM.

I'm not a fan of "accidental art". I'm not impressed with someone saying, "Look, I made a work of art without even really trying." Good for you, now sell it to somebody else.

Taunya, I'm not knocking you in any way. I don't know what kind of photographer you are, or what your real intentions are. My advice: don't buy into the bull of this so-called "movement". Random snapshots are pretty much the opposite of what BetterPhoto.com is all about.

If your idea was just to carry your camera with you everywhere, and take pictures of everything you see around you, then there's nothing wrong with that. Shoot digital, or you'll go broke.

Ok Chris well I guess I got the wrong conception from glancing at it but after what you had to say, I still don't like it. I wouldn't spend $1 on ANY of those pics but there are countless photos on here by "average" photographers that I would spend $200 on if I had the money. There is some good stuff on here...because people are actually trying to be good, not get lucky.

aaaaaah, to each thier own I guess. I go out looking for things to shoot and end up shooting anything that catches my eye, but I try to make a good pic out of it. I try different angles and lighting and comp. but in the end, allmost allways they all get dumped and I never do anything with them!.

When I first read the title on this thread I thought this was what my wife suggested for me but, on second thought, I think she said a lobotomy.

Make something big enough, or collect enough of them, somebody will call it art.
Make it somebody 14-23 dressed in current fashion, it's pop art
Make it a nice looking woman, it's fashion
Make somebody current but dressed in clothes from 2-3 decades ago, but brighter colors, it's new age.
Things like this lomo thing can seem neat at first because at first you may think, at any given moment there's all kinds of people across the world doing something. Then when the 2 minutes are up, you realize it's going to take too long to find something worth looking at and it's not worth it.

In South Africa we have a saying 'jawellnofine' which pretty well means, what the hell... whatever blows your hair forward!! Kerry, did you read this at the bottom "6 most recent of 104,261 public fodlers
Register now for free upload, archiving and picture messaging." Now, this 'fodlers' thing I could be interested in - is it a typo - should it be 'fondling/fondlers' !! That would grab my attention :) :) :)
