Canon Elan 7 & 7ne I'm looking at buying a camera in the Elan series and I was wondering what is the difference between the Canon Elan 7 and the 7NE? Also, has anyone used the Tamron 28-300mm 3.5/6.3 lens? Thanks for any info! 10/12/2005 9:04:52 AM |

"E" models have Eye-Control Focus, non-E do not. The Elan 7/7E was introduced in 2000. The 7N/7NE was a revision introduced in 2004 that added a backlight to the LCD display, some cosmetic changes (such as raised letters on the command dial), and revised algorithms for the autofocus and flash exposure control. 10/12/2005 9:46:42 AM |

While I've never looked into it myself I've heard this from someone on another thread. (I have the 7E, awesome camera) From what I was told the 7 & 7E are the first generation, 7 being what it is and 7E having Eye control. In 2004 they released second generation of 7N & 7NE. I remember this by N standing for "new" lol and E being for "eye" control. Hope this helps.
