Good night! Why do they make the legal way to do things soooo difficult. I have been trying to do this correctly for some time now, if you figure it out, let us all know. Right now it is a lot of headache, a ton of research and a big pain for me. Sorry not to really answer your question, I just read it and got frustrated all over again.

That's OK Kimberly, I have ask a lot of my photographer friends and they either don't know or just won't tell me. So I come to BetterPhoto friends where I know someone will help us. I have always had good luck on finding things out at BetterPhoto. That is the difference in the class of people at BetterPhoto from the common person. If we know we will be glad to share. I think one of the issues is the copyright laws regarding using the music on the photo CD. Like the clients wedding song.

Microsoft PhotoStory is very easy to use. If you have an audio CD with the wedding music on it, use Windows Media Player to rip the music to an MP3 file, then PhotoStory can use it as background music for your pictures. As far as copyright issues are concerned, I wouldn't worry. It's silly to think that anyone will care if you use a song on someone's wedding CD. If you burn 1000 copies of the audio CD and sell them on the street corner, maybe you'll get in trouble. Otherwise, don't sweat it.

That is EXACTLY what I'm reading & worrying about is the copyright issue. I'm reading a thread re this issue & they're all stating is against the law to use music on a wedding CD. Then I'm pretty sure A LOT of people are breaking the law then cause ALL THE WEBSITES I look at...included in the wedding pkgs are CD'S set to music. PLUS I was at a wedding in April & the father made a CD of the bride & groom with all kinds of pictures of them growing up & played it as a slide show & used country music for the back ground! I LOVED the idea. I thought it was great & I would LOVE to make CD's for my bride & groom & play music...THOUGH what's a person to do in this doggy dog world!! GEEZ!!!!!!

Hi All, Do a search in Google for royalty free music, there are lots of sites selling CD's with lots of different types of music that you can use for CD shows and web sites etc. Hope this helps. Del

The RIAA has cracked down on online file-swapping networks because they hurt record sales. If people can download songs for free, they won't go to a store to buy them. Using a song that you own as background music on someone's wedding CD has no negative impact on record sales, so no one is going to care.

I appreciate all the interest in my question. Thanks for reminding me of the Copyright issue. I am privialage to have the music written and composed by a friend who has given me premission to use it for weddings. I was just wanting to know how to incorporate the music and slideshow together on the CD and the software that I needed to do this. I have Roxio CD creator 5 and know now that I have to update it in order to get the job done. Thanks again for your time, I just hope I can manage to get it done. Diane Thomas
