Critique Why do people put so many of practically the same pics it the critque this drives me crazy....

There are a lot of reasons. 1. Desire to get some real input, i.e, suggestions for improvement. The problem of too many pictures falls into a lot of categories, most notably the fact that it seems very difficult to unload a picture to the question directly - so they send you to a gallery. 2. Most of us have a real problem judging our own work. I advocate being ruthless in self-critique; I try to be fair, but ruthless when I judge pictures. My problem with many of the comments made of pictures on BP.com is that they are critiques, rather kudos. Such comments don't help a person grow. 3. Finally, it's an ego-trip.

The reason for me asking this question is that when ever I enter I have to go through all these pics to find that mine has not been viewed, and thank you for the comment of not growing. I was seaking an answer not a depressing don't help people grow. I am a fairly new member here and I just needed the question answered. I do this for enjoyment not to be criticized by a judge.

Well Rita the poor fact is that there's only a handful of judges and 18000+ images PER MONTH so its very hard. Anyways try and find a local camera club or your pro store in town for some good genuine people to help you. The one on one contact may also help more in illustrating any points.

Rita - I'm not sure I understand your question. But as to finding your photos - you don't have to wade through all the contest entries - just go to your gallery. Also - if you click on the little box that says - notify me if there is any discussion on this photo - then you'll get an e-mail telling you someone has commented. Greg - you're a pill!
