Photography Question

Which Class for me?

I am already receiving emails from Better Photo, and enjoy them very much. And the Photos of the Day are great. My question is: I love to take nature/wildlife/sunset/flower pictures.

I use a Konica-Minolta DiMage Z3 (digital) camera. I would like for someone to tell me which class I could benefit from most to make my photos say "WOW" not just "hey nice pic".
Thanks

  Hi Sherri,
Thanks for your interest in BetterPhoto's online courses! Actually, you might benefit from any of several courses ... but first, you'll want to check out our skill levelguide:
http://www.betterphoto.com/photocourses/skill.php

Based on your stated interests:

For skill level 2 and above, for instance, I would recommend "Eight Steps to More Dramatic Photography" or "The Digital Landscape".

If you are pretty much at the beginner stage (Level 1), you can't go wrong with "Bare Bones Digital Photography" or "Jump Start to Digital Photography" ... or perhaps "The Joy of Digital Photography" (Level 2).

Check out our course schedule at:
http://www.betterphoto.com/photocourses/categories.php

By the way, in order to help in your decision-making, be sure to check out the Course Outline and Q&A - links to both are at the bottom of each course-description page.

Have fun deciding, Sherri, and let me know if you have any further questions!

Best,
Kerry

Okay, Kerry...Thank you for the info...This will give me something to check out. I appreciate your answering me....
I know how to crop, resize, play with contrast, etc. I am wanting to take my landscape (sunset & flower pics) and learn how to "work" with them to improve them...I guess what I am really looking for is some "super" enhancing...I really don't know how to explain it...I just see some pics that are in the Photo of the Day., and think..."boy I wish I knew what program (software) they used to get that effect.

Again...thank you for replying to me.

  Hi Sherri,
Thanks for the followup! Actually, many (most?) of the Photos of the Day are successful due entirely to the creative use of lighting, composition, and subject. Of course, many others are successful due to some very skillful - and artful - digital-darkroom work. BetterPhoto shooters are so creative in both "traditional" and digital imaging!

Be sure to check out our Photoshop courses:
http://www.betterphoto.com/photocourses/categories.php

Two excellent Photoshop courses - one by Lewis Kemper, the other by Jim Zuckerman - still have space!

Have fun!

Kerry

Thanks much Kerry ...you answered my questions with:

<<>>

I can take a fairly decent sunset/sunrise photo, I just don't know how to do the "fancy stuff" to make everybody "sit up and take notice"...much the way I do when I see some of these "photos of the day".

Might ask Santa for a class for "my Christmas"

Thanks Kerry
