I love this picture. I know there is something special I can do with this picture, I just can't pin point it (if that makes sense?). I did layer it. Any sugestions?

I personally would love to see this with the "back" face (on the mirror) to be properly exposed, then using a large aperture blur the closer face, so that the one looking at the camera is sharp as a tack and the profile is outside the DOF, leaving it blurry. Or even the other way around. The profile tack sharp, and the reflection blurry.

Anyways as for effects. I'm the type of guy that rarely uses effects. I believe (unlike many many others) that a good pic comes from a good negative (or the first digital capture). Effects are just used to dress up an inferior picture. With a great picture, it will speak for itself and no "effects" are needed.

I must state though for the record that I'm not against effects, but usually I have in mind the end result before I even release shutter. If I want selective coloring, then I'll visualize the picture that way. Good luck! You might be able to put some lighting effects on it in PS to bring up the exposure on the back image and maybe tone down the profile.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll play with it and see what I can come up with.

Andrea, what a neat effect with the mirror. You know I would turn the image to black and white and then increase the contrast. It will turn the shadow on the subject into a welcomed event by popping out her profile. Then I might be apt to apply a soft filter or dream filter over the top.

I took a stab off of a screen shot:

Before I read Justin's response, I thought the exact same thing. With the B&W face, the color face is the subject, sofuzz the B&W to enhance attention on the color. Good call, Justin.

Ok, here is one more option. I had my kids profiles cut out at a fair one time and they look really neat. So, here is another option you can turn the photo into a vectra so it has that cut out appearance. Then you could crop it into a square, removing the backside of the head on the profile puts a little more umph in the face that is forward, it also controls the eye a little better from moving around the photo.

Thank you guys very much. I love all the ideas. Melissa you have great ideas, I really love how the black and white turned out. I'll have to try that. Thank you for taking the time to play with them.
