Saving RAW?

Do I need to save my RAW images? I have to save my photos right to a disk so that it doesn't slow my computer down. I shoot in RAW, but do I really need to save this or should I just be saving these to Tiff and putting the tiff photos on a disk? I've just started doing senior pictures and it's taking me a lot of time trying to figure out what I need and how to organize all of this. Thanks!

I would save them as a TIFF or PSD. Saving them in RAW may make them difficult to open or retrieve off a CD.

My personal work flow, using PS CS, is to open the original RAW file in PS, then immediately save it, using the camera assigned ID number, as a PSD. From there I do all the necessary work, and once finished, I save this as a Master file (****Master.psd). From the Master, I flatten the file, size to the size(s) I need, and add Unsharp Mask to each different size. These are then individually saved, still using the id number, but also the size (810, 1114, etc).
Once you develope a personal work flow for your senior pictures, you can then set up Actions in PS to do all the tedious, mundane work for you.
