over exposure on digital

I,m shooting with 3 400W monolighits two of them on umbrellas.I metered it off at 1/125 F/11 the 20D color AWB color temprature is set at 6000.

The photos are over exposed by two stops. where I'm I going wrong. The same scenario the film based EOS 3 shots were excellent.

Are you setting the same ISO on the 20D as the film in the EOS 3?

The color temperature has no affect on the exposure, and neither does the shutter speed (to a certain degree depending on modeling lights and ambient light).
So the issue boils down to why f11 on your 20d is overexposed 2 stops compared to f11 on your film based EOS 3. Assuming you are using the same lens on each camera, it further narrows down to an ISO issue (eliminating the possiblity for the moment that there is an actual mechanical or electrical problem inside your 20D).
IF...as an example, the film in your camera is ISO 100, and your flash meter is set to 100, you should get accurate results, assuming your metering techniques are good AND your meter is properly calibrated. Your 20D may be set for a different ISO, perhaps 400. With a digital camera, the ISO setting will determine how the light is recorded for each pixel, even in manual mode, using a hand meter. I'm guessing that the 20d is probably set to about 400 ISO (which would require an exposure of f22 rather than f11), and if you are reading the scene @ ISO 100, it would, thus, record the pixels 2 stops over.
If your results are consistent, and my "theory" is incorrect, you can always adjust your meter to a working EI for the 20d, although, in all honesty, 2 stops off is too much.
