Marketing Suggestions for a booth at a craft show?

I know this is really last minute, but I had a wild idea to set up a photography booth at a craft show, tomorrow!! I plan to go tonight to have a few of my best photos made into larger prints, 10x13 will be the largest I can do in 1 hour. I plan to set up business cards and some brochures. Just thought I'd see if anyone else had a great idea for something to do??

I exhibit at juried Arts & Crafts Shows. There is a great Yahoo forum, called "Art Show Photographers." If you can't find it, do a Google of the owner's name - Larry Berman. That should lead you to it. Its purpose is for anyone to discuss or ask questions about anything dealing with photography and arts & craft shows. You'll learn a lot.
It's a risky business at best, but with good marketing skills, quality photographs, and an attractive, professional display, there is money to be made. Not meaning to sound "snobby" here, but rarely, if ever, will you find financial success from a last minute "wild idea" in a show that will accept you the day before, with, presumably a card table and a few scattered loose prints.
Nonetheless, I do wish you good luck, I hope the weekend proves to be a positive learning experience for you, and hope you find some useful info on the show forum I mentioned.
If you enjoy the arts & crafts show "atmosphere," perhaps you can/will think more seriously about exhibiting, and what it will require on your part pertaining to your photographs, and their presentation. Post your inquiries on the forum, and you can always email me if you have specific questions. I'm always willing to share any knowledge I possess.

In closing, I will offer you this advise to start - The more "professional" you look, the more likely you are to sell.

Thanks for the reply Michael. I have very full intentions on having a very professional display and no, I will not be using a card table. I already own very nice frames for my large prints and would never even consider scattering lose photos on a table. And I have already spoken with the person in charge of the event and have a booth space rented, so I already know I will be accepted. Even if all I do is hand out business cards all day long, that will just be more people that see my work and know about me. I really don't see how it could not work out in a good way.
I don't do alot of advertising, so this is a good way to show some of my best photos. Plus it gets me out of the house and time to do something fun for myself!! I love arts and craft shows, so I am hopeful about it!! Thanks again for your reply.

  Michael,
I believe you miss understood my intentions. I am not going to sell my prints...I am going to advertise for my portrait business. That is all. Just trying to spread the word about Keepsakes Photography. Just wanted to clear that up.

You are absolutely right. I did misunderstand your intentions, thinking you were going to spread a few loose prints out to sell as is. My apologies.
By the way, there is a large craft show in Germantown, Tennessee (near Memphis) which I do. There are always several commercial/portrait studios set up there with sample images and prints ready to show to potential customers. It must work for them, because they keep coming back every year.
Good luck, and sorry for the misunderstanding.

No probelm Michael!! I would be way out of my leauge if I were to try and sell prints on such short planning. I bet that takes much time in preparing the frame work and such. Maybe someday I'd like to make cards or something, but for now I just want to do a little advertising. I appreciate you're honesty in trying to give great advice!! Thanks so much!!
