Lighting a large group

Hi there!

I've got 4 500w/s monolights and will be photographing my first indoor large group (about 45 people). I'll be using a 50mm lens at f11 or f16. Do think my lights will be strong enough?

But most importantly anyone have, any suggestions for how to place them? I want to avoid cross shadows and shadows under the eyes.

I also have 2 silver/white umbrellas, one large softbox, and one extra large skim.

Any suggestions and tips would be very appreciated! :)

  HI Michelle,
there is a graph I created and lighting instructions on Part 2 of the thread: Studio Photography, the cooked husband( I know odd name you'd have to read through part 1 and 2 to see why, lol)
any why , you should have no problem with these lights- are you useing unbrellas or soft boxes?
I have shoot this at the f22 and f16
using the same set up with umbrellas.
using 2 as back lights and then 2 as main lights.
hope this adds some help,if I come accross the graph I will post it here, but it is there.
Debby
