Photography Question

size of photo

I have a D70 and shoot in fine image quality mode, and large image size. However, the largest my photos ever are is 3.0 MB, usually smaller. Why is this? I would like to enlarge some of my photos greater than 8x10 or 11x16. How can I increase the file size?

Interpolation In Photoshop And Or Shooting In Raw Format Yields About 5.5mb File Closed Which Should Give You A Little More To Start With Heidi,Raw Format Gives You A Larger File Size Closed I Havent Shot Any Jpegs In The D70 So I Cant Comment About Jpeg's And The File Size.
